Hobbies

Pictured with Trey above is co-worker Mayflor Collier at PROJECTXYZ’s Muscle Shoals facility.
I learned of “blade-smithing” from the television show called “Forged-in-Fire.” Immediately upon watching the show for the first time, I was ecstatic and enthused.

Trey: Artistic hobbies and even careers have always been a passion and I have been an avid hunter for the majority of my life. So, long story short, my artist abilities and some lifetime passions came together after doing research and learning. Today, I am still trying to learn more and as much as possible about blade-smithing. From blade-smithing, there is the opportunity to make something that can have lasting value for generations and that the knives or blades may be handed down through time. Knowing that you created something that could have that much meaning to a child, a father, or even great-grandchildren, makes every swing of the hammer worth it.
There’s not a style or a single type of knife that I would say no too. The challenge of making something difficult, or completely making a new design is enjoyable. What I love about making knives is that no two are “exactly” the same and every piece is somewhat unique for the customer, and to me as well. Currently I work with high-carbon and high nickel content steels for the best quality blade possible for Mono-steel, and/or Damascus, etc. Specializing in all types of blades, whether it be from axes and tomahawks to kitchen knives, I want the Treydayblades “T” to reach as far as possible.
To Learn More: Trey knives are hand-forged with high-tested steel giving them a finished product like none other! His passion for crafting knives is what keeps him busy outside of work. To see more of Trey’s work, search TreyDayBlades on Facebook!

Dream More, Do More, Become More:
That is what PROJECTXYZ is all about and congratulations to the employee Team at our Muscle Shoals, Alabama location for outstanding participation and completion of the Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) Leadership I, II, and III program.
Courses ranged from leading multiple generations, personality styles, motivation, and communication to conflict management and teamwork.

PROJECTXYZ would like to thank and commend the following employees who are pictured left to right as follows: Donte Hogan, Malik Smith, Bobbie Clemmons, Zach Hyde, and Michael Owens. Their time and dedication to completing these courses is an investment in their professional growth as emerging leaders within PROJECTXYZ. This Team is top-notch, and we appreciate all you do!

PROJECTXYZ would like to congratulate and commend four awesome employees for receiving certifications in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 training program. OSHA 10 trains and informs personnel on how to recognize and avoid common job-related hazards and the program also explains employer responsibilities and workers’ rights under OSHA. Graduates of OSHA-authorized outreach courses receive an official completion card from the US Department of Labor and certification is an increasingly common job requirement among employers nationwide. Additionally, all earned the designation of Certified Production Technician which recognizes individuals who demonstrate mastery of the foundational, core competencies of advanced manufacturing production at the entry-level to front-line supervisor level through successful completion of the certification assessments.
PROJECTXYZ appreciates your dedication and preparation during this time and while working full-time and balancing other responsibilities. Your clear commitment to ongoing learning and development involved many hours of studying and is a testament to your willingness to go above and beyond.
Meet the PROJECTXYZ Muscle Shoals Product Room & Assembly Training Team

• Promoting and investing in workforce development for employees
Employees were selected among the Product Room and Assembly departments for the positions based on attendance, department performance and product knowledge, interest, attitude, and leadership and training potential. Employees also were required to complete a certification process conducted by Training Within Industry (TWI).
PROJECTXYZ would like to commend the following personnel for their commitment and dedication to ensuring delivery of a highly motivated and responsive Product and Assembly Team for our Muscle Shoals facility: Brady Lambert, Estella Rodriguez, Ron White, Alicia Abernathy, Shaquita Franklin, Phyllis Sandridge, Charlotte Matson, Heather Wilkinson, and Mary Rigby.
PROJECTXYZ strongly believes in the growth and development of all employees by providing generous opportunities for all employees to enroll in job-related education, training, and professional development programs. PROJECTXYZ Awarded FMS Contract
PROJECTXYZ was recently awarded a contract through the Simplified Non-Standard Acquisition Program (SNAP) to provide Foreign Military Sales (FMS) products in support of the US Army Security Assistance Command.
PROJECTXYZ was selected for the award based on a government review of our previous FMS non-standard equipment design and manufacturing capabilities as well as our ability to meet delivery requirements on time and on schedule.
Through the use of the SNAP which is managed by the US Army Tank and Automotive Command in Detroit, Michigan, the Army purchases non-standard weapon system equipment that is unique to our Foreign Allied Defense partners military applications. Purchases can also be obtained typically faster, easier, and less expensively than through the use of traditional federal government contact awards or acquisitions

DANCING for HEALS Helps Critical Needs in Community

Veronica Tucker is representing PROJECTXYZ in the upcoming STARS Dancing for HEALS. Veronica is PROJECTXYZ’s Director of Special Projects and works at the Huntsville corporate office. Modeled after the hit reality show, “Dancing with the Stars,” the event features stars from the community dancing with local instructors to raise funds for the Health Establishments at Local Schools or HEALS.
The event kicks off November 4 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville. Until then, Veronica along with her husband and dance partner Archie will be trained by local instructors and collecting donations or votes to reach fundraising goals. Every dollar donated to HEALS counts as one vote and the stars compete to win awards as the top fundraiser and crowd favorite. Votes are $1 and interested donors have the opportunity to vote online for their favorite star.
A non-profit organization, HEALS pioneered the concept of school-based clinics providing health, vision, and dental care to school children in Huntsville and Madison County, Alabama. For more information on the mission of HEALS visit http://www.healsinc.org
